The NHS is inviting children aged 5 to 11 to book their COVID-19 vaccination or visit a local drop-in clinic.
The COVID-19 vaccine is now available to all children aged 5 and over – simply find a local drop-in clinic or book an appointment at: www.nhs.uk/covidvaccination or call 119.
Children aged 5 to 11 are being offered two smaller 10mcg doses of the Pfizer vaccine, with the second dose available 12 weeks after the first for most children.
However, children with a condition that means they’re at high risk from COVID-19 or who live with someone who has a weakened immune system can get a second dose from 8 weeks after their first.
The local NHS is encouraging families in Liverpool to grab a jab ahead of the Easter holidays to avoid any disruption due to illness.
Alder Hey are holding a drop-in vaccination clinic for children aged 5 and above this weekend – you can simply walk in or book and appointment via the NHS website:
Date: Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th April
Time: 9am – 4pm
At: Institute in the Park, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Eaton Road, L12 2AP
Alternatively, you can find a full list of local drop-in clinics across the city which are offering vaccines for 5 to 11-year-olds at: www.liverpoolccg.nhs.uk/drop-in-vaccination
