Community grants
Central Liverpool Primary Care Network (CLPCN) is dedicated to tackling racism as racial health disparities continue to increase at an alarming rate, and working together to create an anti-racist culture through the elimination of bias, discrimination and injustice across our Practices, the PCN and the organisations with which we work.
Racism is a structural problem which exists in nearly all major institutions and organisations. CLPCN recognises institutional and systemic racism as a legitimate issue, one that has no quick fix, but can no longer go unaddressed.
Central Liverpool’s population is increasingly diverse and multicultural, however Global Majority residents in Central Liverpool face larger health inequalities, higher employment gaps, are more likely to be economically inactive, are paid less on average than white residents, are more likely to live in poverty and less likely to own their own home. CLPCN accepts that it has a significant role to play in tackling this injustice and inequality and driving forward positive change.
We have a responsibility to ensure our programmes and services are accessible to all our residents and we must use our influence to set best practice for other organisations and stakeholders to follow. Put simply, we must do the right thing for Global Majority communities, patients and employees and influence the partners we work with to do the same.
With this in mind, these grants are to support community-based projects that build on the assets in communities to support anti racist approaches.
This grant funding is intended for facilitating group activities and conversations of all sizes, including those that capture collective intelligence; welcome and listen to diverse viewpoints; encourage participation and civility; and transform conflict into creative cooperation. Organisations can apply for up to £1000.
If 2 or more organisations would like to work in partnership, we are also allowing an additional amount of £500 to support this process, through capacity building / partnership activities.
